Box Meme

Yoinked from several folks...

So, say you were meeting a new person--blind date, new friend, who knows. And you wanted them to have some idea of what kind of person you are, and who you are. But you can't actually tell them in so many words. Instead, you have to give them a box, with a dozen things in it for them to look at/read/listen to/taste/whatever. What would you put in the box? And a copy of your journal or a link to your LJ would be the same thing as just telling them directly, yourself, so that's not allowed.

Interesting Supposition

Perusing the extras disk in the Red Dwarf series 1 DVD set, watching the documentary Launching Red Dwarf. I just saw part of an interview with Rob Grant, one of the creators of the series mentioning that this person had read for a part when they were launching the series. It certainly begs the question "what if..."

Yes, it's more than a bit of comment whoring, but...

...I like this meme (from lysana), a variation on the box:

"If you had to put together such a box, in the spirit of the thing (i.e. not trying to cheat by just putting me in the box), etc., that you think would effectively represent me to someone who doesn't know me, what things (you don't have to list a whole dozen, although if you want to, that's cool) would you put in it? Alternatively, what one item or items would you add to my box?"
