So, two and a half weeks have passed since I dropped 5 daily meds.  I think I’m no worse, but I’m not sure if I’m better or not.  I’m sneezing more, and feeling a bit more stuffed in the sinuses a bit more often, but the sneezes seem to provide more relief than they used to provide.  Also tried some Sudafed on one of my more congested days, but I don’t think it did anything.

Today I finally managed to try the exercise plan to deal with my exercise-induced asthma.  After working a TA prep meeting until Noon, I stopped at the gym to ride the stationary bike for half an hour (that was my goal, anyway).  Before going in, I took a puff from my albuterol inhaler.  Didn’t feel much right away, but I was able to ride the full 30 minutes without much mouth breathing, and I even managed to keep up an average cadence of 85 rpm in a fairly high gear for a length of 6.25 miles.  When I got home I was feeling jittery and a bit buzzy in the brain, but that’s worn off now.  I think using the albuterol before exercise is going to help.  But it certainly won’t help the uncomfortable seat on the stationary bike at my gym.  I think I’m going to need to try one of my mobile bicycles next, which is my goal anyway.

I also learned it’s not too difficult to change from slacks to exercise shorts in the front seat of my Civic, as long as I put the seat back and leave the steering wheel up.
