Went down to contra dance tonight, but didn't realize that there is a Tori Amos concert tonight at the Murat Theatre, across the corner from the Athenaeum (where the regular Tuesday Indy contra dances are held). Drove around for 10-15 minutes before deciding there was absolutely nowhere to park, so I headed back home. Yes, I probably wussed out, but it gave me an excuse to get home early to get some dinner for computerchix, who was having a bad day GI-wise, anyway. There is always next week for contra dancing...

It's things like that that make me miss Indianapolis. Not parking dilemmas per se, but just the buildings you're describing. My dad works in the English Foundation building that's right across from the Murat Shrine on Alabama. I didn't know they had contra dancing at the Athenaeum!

computerchix and I had our wedding reception in the Egyptian Room at the Murat, while a Melissa Etheridge concert was being held in the adjacent theatre. The Athenaeum has been the home of Indy Contra Dance for many years.
