quasigeostrophy

Today's meeting with my advisor was extremely productive. Considering I've felt like I've gotten not much done in the last two weeks, I apparently have done enough that, with feedback from today's meeting, a couple of topics are burbling beneath the surface. Both a short one for my paper submission for next summer's conference, due December 1, and a bigger one that might end up evolving into my PhD thesis topic.

Considering I've been concerned ever since I started this that I would have trouble coming up with the latter of those topics, I'm relieved.
