Mono Lake Workshop slides are back!
Jan. 22nd, 2003 08:20 pmI am immensely pleased. Just gave all ~432 shots a once-over in the little slide viewer, and I can say the following:
1. The EOS-1v was a worthy investment.
2. Ditto for the seminar/workshop.
3. Many, many thanks to
joedecker for letting me know about the workshop!
4. I am immensely pleased.
I am going to have one hell of a time culling out the bad stuff. Granted, not every exposure (especially since I did bracket almost every composition) nor every composition is terrific, but I am very, very happy with the results. I think this batch may have my highest percentage of "keepers" ever. Woo-fucking-hoo!! I need to set aside some time possibly next week to pick out some to get drum-scanned.
Did I mention I am immensely pleased?

Date: 2003-01-23 04:56 am (UTC)Well, given I don't yet own a warming filter, mine have their own blue saturation concerns, but I need to see one or two of that fall enlarged to see if I think it's too much blue or not for my own taste.
You hit the nails on the head in your 2nd paragraph above - I found myself not only with the time to think about the compositions and the exposures much more, but also, given I've usually found myself out in beautiful places at midday, with fewer "options" (for lack of a better way to put it - not quite sure if that's what I'm wanting to say), on these outings I found myself thinking about doing this or that with the filters I do have, or the exposure, or whatever. In the past I might have skipped it, but this weekend I'd stop and tell myself, "this is what you're here for, dammit! You've got the time - try it!". And what do you know, it worked more often than not!
Finally, again, it was a pleasure having you along. Thank you!
The pleasure was mine, as well, and please pass the sentiment along to Chris too. Thanks!!!
