I will say that I have noticed a correlation between killing frosts with the october and april/may full moons. And every time I've scoffed and said, "That's just an old farmer's tale", I've lost plants. Needless to say, I use row covers now (and check the weather forecast/dewpoint obsessively).

That reminds me, I still need to research what to do with our petunias, silver mound artemesias and hybrid sage plants as that time nears.
