Did the family holiday present-opening thing (and so forth) with [livejournal.com profile] computerchix's parents and her brother's family today. We made them all wait until we got to her parents' place at around 9:15 AM before opening presents. I think everyone enjoyed all that we gave them. We certainly made out like bandits.

DVDs:
- Star Trek III: The Search for Spock - Special Collector's Edition
- The Spanish Prisoner
- The Importance of Being Earnest

- Singin' in the Rain
- Melissa Etheridge: Live... and Alone

Audio CDs:
- Peter Gabriel: Up
- Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers: The Last DJ

Books:
- Dune: The Butlerian Jihad - Brian Herbert & Kevin Anderson - No, Brian can't write like his dad started out, but the prequels have all been good backstory info, and I've been dying for someone to write up the Butlerian Jihad.
- Cold Beer & Crocodiles: A Bicycle Journey into Australia - Roff Smith
- Wheeling Around Louisville: 25 Great Rides - I think my brother-in-law and his wife are trying to tell me something?
- Star Trek Star Charts
- Star Trek Deep Space Nine Companion
- The Great Book of Amber: The Complete Amber Chronicles 1 - 10 - Roger Zelazny
- Neverwhere - Neil Gaiman
- The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes - Neil Gaiman
- American Gods - Neil Gaiman - A Signed First Edition!!! Wow!

Amazon even delivered a special book for [livejournal.com profile] computerchix all the way from Canada:

- Night Watch - Terry Pratchett - UK Edition Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] lysana!

I got a nice shadowbox made by [livejournal.com profile] computerchix's dad for my medal, bib number, and finishing photo from my Death Valley bike ride. We got a Mr. Coffee Cocomotion Hot Chocolate Maker. [livejournal.com profile] computerchix got a "Moosle Relaxer", something she can wear around her neck which has a microwaveable bag... it's shaped like a moose. She also got some reflexology socks - labeled so a sweetie can tell what parts of the feet affect what.

After opening presents, we came over to our place, and were met by my friend M, for the family portraits. This went more smoothly than expected - M and I took a while to get the lighting right, but once that was done, the shoot went quickly. M left, and we had a nice traditional turkey dinner (which [livejournal.com profile] computerchix didn't have to cook - her mom relocated everything to our kitchen). The whole gang just left a little while ago, and we're going to relax and enjoy a quiet evening. Tomorrow is laundry, and lots of reading. I already had quite a bit to enjoy before today - now the list is even longer!

Thanks! I'd been wanting to read a lot of that stuff - Now, I suppose I have no excuse, eh? :-)

And, if you don't have "Up"... (Oh, wait, I see [livejournal.com profile] computerchix is faster on LJ than I am again!)
