Really rather good. However, as a reviewer once noted - it still all ends with a Teddy Bear Picnic in the woods.

See, I'm not critical of the Ewok thing at all. What the main characters do in RoTJ still works for me, Ewoks and all. In fact, for me, that film has one of the most powerful scenes when, the first time I saw it, I realized who the whole series was really about.

I need to see the whole series all at once or at least over a couple of days, I guess. I never really got the Ewoks.

Well, you've certainly seen them more recently than I have and are likely right. They've always seemed improbably CUTE to me, I guess.
