"Before" Pics

Toni found some shots of the front of the house from before removal of the junipers and privets. Well before. These shots are at least two years old, and they're winter shots, after a heavy snowfall. But you'll get the idea. :-)

• The privets from the porch. They were quite a bit larger than this, actually.

That's such a nice railing on the porch. And those shrubs were out of scale.

Unfortunately the stuff that stays low and compact is expensive, and so builders don't plant appropriately.

Toni and I were wondering about adding one more sage in the rear corner by the sidewalk, but I'm not sure it won't start getting too crowded.

Now that the railing is exposed again, we definitely need to paint it and all the house trim. We're thinking of going with more of a navy blue against the gray siding rather than the lighter blue it currently is.
