Answer the questions below and post it in your LJ to see how wide the generation gap truly is.

(Gakked from [livejournal.com profile] sistercoyote.)

Where were you when:

1. JFK was assassinated (1963): Unborn.
2. Man first landed on the moon (1969): In my parents' living room, watching it on the old B&W TV. I was not quite four years old.
3. Watergate broke (1972): About ready to or just did start first grade. I got so tired of hearing about it on the news every night.
4. 3-Mile Island occurred (1979): In Junior High School.
5. John Lennon was assassinated (1980): I was in 9th grade.
6. The Shuttle Challenger exploded (1986): I was in the shower, getting ready to go to work at Sears (my undergrad part-time job), when my sister called from the bank where she worked to tell me to turn on the TV. I spent the whole shift at Sears watching incessant news reports about it in the TV department.
7. The Berlin Wall came down (1999): That should be 1989. I was a freelance video flunkie doing production work for a local cable TV provider, in between undergrad and grad school.
8. 9/11 (2001): I was at FormerEmployerTM, sitting at my desk, still going through morning e-mail and such, when one of my employees stuck his head in my office doorway to tell me what happened re the first plane hitting the WTC. We went upstairs to the break room to watch the news report on the big projection TV and got there just in time to see the 2nd plane hit the WTC live.

Did you see the following movies in the theatre (or were at least around)?:

1. Sound of Music (1965): I was still in the womb when it first came out.
2. The Godfather (1972): Didn't see it until it came to TV. First saw it uncut on Showtime, I think.
3. Star Wars – Episode 4 (1977): I had to be dragged by my older sisters. Theatre was so crowded we missed the cool opening scene (entered during the battle in progress on the rebel blockade runner). Went back too many times to count.
4. Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981): Yep.
5. E.T. (1982): Yep. Unfortunately.
6. Braveheart (1995): Yep.
7. Lord of the Rings – The Fellowship of the Ring (2001): Yep.

1. What year did you graduate high school? 1984.
2. What did you wear to your graduation (under your robe/gown)? Shorts and a t-shirt.
3. Was your hair long or short? Too long, I think.
4. What was the first concert you went to (without your parents)? Foghat/Blue Oyster Cult in 1981.
5. Do you still know your high school’s alma mater? I don't think I ever knew it completely.
6. Were your Physical Ed. classes co-ed? Not in high school or junior high.
