[livejournal.com profile] mac_arthur_park and I went to the fair this morning, primarily so I could see if any of my photo entries won anything or were put on display. Given the number of entries and judging methods, I'm fairly pleased when an entry gets put on display whether it wins a ribbon/prize or not. This year, I did better than last, with three of my four entries being exhibited:

The one that didn't make the cut was Old South Cemetery, Ipswich, Massachusetts. I wonder if I should have gone ahead and entered the infra-red version of that shot. Oh, well. I'm also pleased with three out of four being displayed because this year I had to enter the Professional division, which has fewer subcategories and tighter competition. I'm particularly impressed that December Sunrise made the cut because I snapped that on a whim on the front porch with our little 3.2 Mp digital camera.

After checking out the photography, Al and I wandered about the usual haunts and had the requisite fair food before heading back home. I've had an unshakable headache all day and didn't want to spend all day at the fairgrounds, especially because it was actually getting pretty warm outside.

As I posted in my own journal, I am impressed by your photos.

Have you considered setting up shop at art festivals? You may want to look into this one.

I do want to eventually work an art festival. I've got to crank up some inventory first - so far, my art print sales have been "made to order". The one you linked looks cool, and I'll have to consider it. :-)

Congratulations! :)

I guess I'm not judge material, 'cause of the four, I liked the cemetary best.:)

Thanks!

Overhear any compliments?

Not really that I noticed were specific to my prints, but we were browsing fairly quickly, considering the state of my headache at the time. There were probably around 500 or more total prints on display.
