*scratches head*
Jul. 23rd, 2004 12:17 pmMaybe I'm missing something, not being enough of a night owl to watch any more of Cartoon Network's Adult Swim lineup than reruns of Family Guy and Futurama.
I stopped by Trader Joe's to pick up a couple things, and while I was checking out, the young, cute, and very pierced cashier complimented me on my t-shirt. As I was grabbing my bag and heading for the door, she asked if I was a fan of Adult Swim. Now, the shirt I'm wearing has goth versions of The Powerpuff Girls on it. Does Cartoon Network do something gothy with them during Adult Swim?
Of course, she probably was just associating one Cartoon Network production with another.
Now, off to eat my kippered herring for lunch. Because I can. :-)

Date: 2004-07-23 10:57 am (UTC)My response to the check-out girl at TJ's was better than my response to the very goth account rep at the local high-end photo production house earlier, though. When I was there, I was still brain dead enough to forget which shirt I was wearing when she complimented it. I was still thinking I was wearing the Brand (from Zelazny's Amber stories) quote ("My current motivation is entirely altruistic.") shirt, and replied, "Thanks. It's a quote from a book." She didn't seem phased, but in the car afterward I just thought D'oh!
Ew. *twitch*
I can only eat them when no one else is in the house - the smell bothers Toni. Same with Tuna. :-)

Yeah, I too make C. warn me when he's going to eat "stinky fish" (he likes canned mackerel, which reeks); when the smell starts to permeate the house, I run away from the kitchen while the cat runs towards it. Tuna I don't mind, although it can be a little overpowering.

Never tried mackerel. My fave stinky fish is salmon, which I think is actually pretty mild on the stinky scale. I can't really tell, though, having a lousy sense of smell.
