Despite the subject line, it wasn't a bad weekend in some respects. Yesterday, Toni and I went down to Louisville to see her folks' new place and have Mother's Day dinner with them and her brother's family. We went over to her brother's house for dinner last night - burgers & dogs on the grill. Not bad, but we were wondering today if E (Toni's sister-in-law) had put Accent or something else containing MSG on the salad, because this morning she started coming down with another migraine.

Last night, Toni's folks put us up in their upstairs spare bedroom, and we had trouble getting to sleep on the double bed. I'm not sure I ever really got to sleep due to several factors: I never sleep well the first night in a strange place, the room was stuffy, it was alternating hot and cold, and I think I inhaled a minor dust cloud all night from the pillows I was sleeping on. Then this morning, Toni's migraine started kicking in, so we got through dinner and bailed about 2:30 EDT so I could get Toni home for rest. We wondered if it was triggered by the salad, as I said, or even just all the new stuff in her parents' house (carpet, furniture, etc.) degassing and filling the air with fun chemicals. Aside from being tired, I'm not feeling wonderful either.

It was nice seeing the nieces and nephews again, and Toni's brother and SIL. Her parents not living here is still a new thing, though E mentioned we'd probably end up seeing them more frequently since they're in Louisville than we did when they were ten miles away.

I noticed one thing while driving home today. Actually, I've been noticing it increasingly over the last several days, but it's finally surfaced in my brain how much this disgusting habit annoys me, and that's when a driver in another car (usually the one in front of me) flings zir cigarette butt out the car window. I've used the verbal insult, "Butthead!" in reaction to this behaviour for some time, but it's annoying me even more now. And I generally have a pretty high tolerance. I think what may have set it off was a girl in a car in front of me on Friday afternoon who seemed to intentionally flick her used butt with more than a little flair to the action, and it almost seemed like she aimed for my car. It missed, barely.

Now to vegetate for a while before probably going to bed early...

I was driving on the Beltway one night and someone in the U-Haul in front of me tossed their lit cigarette...which then proceeded to bounce off my driver's side window. If I'd had the window open rather than the sunroof, it would've landed in my lap or in my hair. I'm not sure why some smokers think the entire world is their own personal ashtray. Nasty.
