Got going back to the "Y" this morning. Felt quite good.

And so much for having changed the porch light bulb. The new fluorescent low-wattage replacement lasted less than a day. Have to get some incandescent 60-watters at Target or some such later in the week. [livejournal.com profile] annaoj arrives tomorrow evening. Guess it will be in the dark. ;-)

I'm finally getting back to the weekly contra dances tomorrow night. The late night means I'll probably skip the "Y" on Wednesday mornings, but I'll get enough aerobics at contra.

are you sure you're using the right kind of bulbs for the fixture?

if not, they won't last very long at all... and could pose a fire risk.

hmmm, i wonder what's up with your bulb--our fluorescent on our porch works fine and dandy--did you maybe not get one that can take outdoor-type weather?

I'm thinking it has something to do with the fact that it doesn't fit very well. Not at the socket, that's the correct type. When I put it in, I noticed it seemed to be a tight fit within the glass enclosure, almost as if it was touching the glass. Maybe that shorted or blew something. We have the same fluorescent screw-in bulb in our yard post lamp that has lasted for months. I may replace the whole porch light fixture soon anyway. It's getting pretty icky from exposure.
