Quiet VDay
Feb. 15th, 2004 09:15 amWoke up yesterday with a headache. Tried getting some caffeine and took some naproxen, which usually helps, but my activity for the majority of the day was not conducive to curing a headache. Spent most of the day working in QuickBooks, getting a bunch of stuff for the business up to date. Not the part of having my own business I like, for certain, but it has to be done. I think it was Red on an episode of That 70s Show who said once, "That's why it's called work. If it wasn't work, it would be called jolly happy fun time."
How profound. :-)
Finished what I wanted with that by around 4:30pm, so with Toni in NC along with Al for the weekend, I decided to veg the rest of the day. Even though the headache eased up toward evening, I didn't feel I could pick up the book I started Friday night. Neal Stephenson's Cryptonomicon, while I'm finding some parts of it hilarious, is not going to be a light read in any sense. Not the sort of thing to read while recovering from QuickBooks and a headache. So, instead I popped The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy into the DVD player for three hours. I think I may try to reread that series by Adams soon. It's been a long time. I'm curious about the upcoming film version, too.
Today... ???
