Pooped.

Let's see... Hauled a crapload of stuff to Half Price Books. Got squat for it, but didn't care - mostly obsolete tech books. Dropped off a big black garbage bag full of clothes and such, and a VCR, at Goodwill.

Came home to find the bookcase I had loaded up yesterday didn't collapse in the middle of the shelf (I was concerned about the bowing pressboard shelf and so put lighter books on the remaining empty one), but rather the plastic pegs in two corners of both the recently-filled top shelf and the middle shelf (which I think gave due to the domino effect) had given into gravity. I was amazed I actually found the little metal ones for sale at Home Despot. Of course, I've never really looked in a hardware store for them before.

Moved the remaining crap that is mine out of the spare bedroom (except from the closet), and organized my camera equipment. I found a place to store it in the basement. While doing so, I was putting some extra film in the small refrigerator down there, and noticed that at some point in time the fridge had defrosted. All of my color reversal 8x10 and 11x14 paper was trashed - soaked through. The other film, B&W paper, and Ilfochrome (for printing from color slides) paper was fine, fortunately. So, I cleaned out that little fridge, made sure the door would close properly, and turned it down a little (colder).

Next, I decided to hang the hand towel ring in the downstairs half bath, and move its towel bar upstairs to the master bath as an additional one there. I still need to spackle and paint over some holes, but that can wait.

Finally, I wanted to see just how heavy my old dresser was. I went down to the basement and pulled out all the drawers, and it was not heavy at all. Cheap, obviously, but it'll hold clothes. Brought it upstairs easier than I was expecting to be able to, and cleaned it up.

Now, I'm going to figure out dinner and find a movie to watch. Slack time...

Had an unexplained craving for Chicken Pad Thai, and not remembering anywhere else closer that has a good version thereof, drove over to Nothing But Noodles to get some from there. Which was okay, because it gave me a chance to check on the progress of one of the two new Chipotle restaurants being built on our side of Indy. The one on 96th still isn't close to opening, but it looks like the building is just about finished. I've been jonesing to go back to one ever since [livejournal.com profile] geekchick and C introduced me to the concept in Fairfax at the end of May and I then proceeded to discover they weren't in our area yet. Soon!

While sitting at the noodle place waiting for my order, I decided I truly am a product of the media I intake. Whenever I see the sign Maximum Occupancy: X somewhere, I can't help thinking of The Simpsons episode where Homer declares a holiday from work for the Feast of Maximum Occupancy because it's the first sign at Moe's he sees when he needs the excuse. That, then, usually makes me think of A Canticle for Leibowitz and the Fallout Shelter. My brain makes weird associations. Go figure.

Driving back home, I passed a store called LaCrosse and Sports. LaCrosse isn't a sport? *ducks*

Oy!

One thing I've neglected since beginning The Decluttering ProjectTM: I'm only partially done with cataloging all of our books in the Readerware database. Probably most of what we've gotten rid of via Half Price Books were in the database, and before the decluttering I hadn't catalogued any of the books in the actual library. Now I have shuffled books around between just about every room in the house.

Gah.
