Musing over my weekend "social schedule"
Mar. 5th, 2003 08:50 amTonight looks to be fun.
computerchix and I are going to see The Lion in Winter at the IRT. I've heard it's a really good work. I've also heard it's a great inspiration for Amber gaming, and I suppose I'll find out why tonight.
This weekend, she has to work Friday night, possibly late, but on Sunday we're catching another performance. This one is Celtic fiddler Eileen Ivers with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.
It occurred to me that I will have three of the following four weekends to myself.
computerchix is going to Bristol March 14-17. Then, she is going to St. Louis March 21-23. I have Ambercon US March 27-31, and
computerchix is going to the SF Bay area April 4-9. What will I do with myself? After I thought for a minute, the list really wasn't too difficult:
I'll be okay for three "lone" weekends. I may have my friend M come over to help in the darkroom when I'm printing, too.

- Dig out source footage for nearly eleven year old unfinished video project (it has to do with
computerchix's LJ userpic on her comment here - yes, our wedding video is still unedited). - Clean off desk (this is a must, and I should start on it before March 14, actually).
- Reorganize photography (I dread chores like this, but I may make a dent).
- Make more prints in darkroom (I need an inventory above and beyond what is in my portfolio if I'm ever going to exhibit and attempt to sell).
- Catch up on massive reading pile (this and the item above are the most appealing). I think I've chosen the next read after Zelazny's Eye of Cat: Kay's Tigana is starting to call my name now. I figure I'd better wait to start Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series. If I do it now, I'll be in it for months. I'm a definite serial monogamist when it comes to fiction, and other individual works are sitting there calling, "Read me..."
- Go scouting (and actually shooting, if successful) for B-roll for a recently-inspired new video idea I have. I need to find a lone, naked oak tree and spiderwebs (I also need fire, but I can probably use existing source material for that). It's been soooo long since I've made a video. This one will be a while in the making, which will give me a chance to work on the other project I mentioned above and learn the editing system here at work.
