The deep-fried Twinkie^TM was meh. Not bad, actually, but it really seemed to me to be just an elongated doughnut on a stick. Went to the state fair this morning, but didn't stay long - I think the temp is only in the low 80s F, but the humidity is over 90%. When computerchix and I came out of the Expo Hall, I thought I was going to need a life vest, so we didn't hang around to finish our usual food sampling.

Going back tomorrow at 1:00pm to see what the judges really thought of my photo entries.

Yup. Doughnut on a stick. You'd think something that sounds like such a bad idea would be sinfully good...oh well. It was okay. But I was hoping for more.

My fair experiences this week, including fried twinkie and puzzlement over some things that got awarded ribbons, was quite similar.
