[livejournal.com profile] computerchix and I headed up to Santa Rosa early yesterday to check out the new Charles M. Schulz Museum. I was really impressed!! It was very nicely done, very understated. Some parts, especially the recreation of Schulz's drawing studio, were very moving. Ate lunch at the Warm Puppy Cafe at the Redwood Empire Ice Arena and did the obligatory gift shop perusal.

Amazingly, for a nice Sunday afternoon, we made it from Santa Rosa all the way down to Milpitas in two hours (of course, [livejournal.com profile] computerchix was driving). Met [livejournal.com profile] mactavish, [livejournal.com profile] deyo, [livejournal.com profile] amythis, [livejournal.com profile] jimweasel, [livejournal.com profile] neural_girl, [livejournal.com profile] lcohen, and others for a while. Lots of laughter and good company. Had a really awesome Rocky Road pie.

Went to [livejournal.com profile] klwalton's for dinner, along with [livejournal.com profile] cassidyrose and [livejournal.com profile] catzen. Delicious gazpacho, terrific stuffed shells with a nice salad and broccoli. However, the highlight of the food was the Molten Chocolate Cake. [livejournal.com profile] klwalton and Tim made us feel right at home, even with the Giant's game on ;-) Wanted to take [livejournal.com profile] klwalton's camera home. :-)

After all the good times and food, I wasn't sure I'd be able to get [livejournal.com profile] computerchix to SFO for her red-eye flight home and get back to my Sunnyvale hotel room myself before falling asleep. But, here I am back at the Mountain View office to start another exciting work week. Zzzzz...

At least the Giants won :). Had they lost, we would have had to banish Tim to the shed with a bottle of scotch. Oh, and once I remembered it was Singapore on the way back from Calcutta, he said, "Oh, yeah!" Yeesh! :):)

I mean this seriously; if, when you're out here, you find yourself with a day to take pictures, you are welcome to borrow the 6x7 kit (I'll include all the manuals :)). You can have the film processed at Calypso in San Jose (Joe can provide details about their services, including high res scans).

Photogeeking would be a great idea, and I'm definitely up for it. We'll have to get [livejournal.com profile] the_ogre in on it, too.

Yeah, it was Singapore. :):) He remembers the noodle shop in the airport, too. Silly man.

You are a fast woman on LJ ;-) I post a reply, notice a typo, delete it, repost, and you've already replied to the now-deleted version. Sheesh! :-)

[livejournal.com profile] the_ogre is definitely welcome on a photogeek excursion. Any friend of yours (especially those into photog)... :-)

I'm doing my usual morning 'net stuff :). When I'm not working, I spend a lot of my morning here.

[livejournal.com profile] the_ogre is a fine photographer and an incredible graphic artist. And an all-around nice guy :):).

You don't know how much I appreciate the offer to use the 6x7. If I get the chance, I will respect it more than if it was my own. I'm glad you have the manuals, though. I am definitely an RTFM type (just so I don't break something :-). Sometime, I've got to actually come out here not for work! I need a good guide, though, for where to go to get some cool out-of-the way shots. I've done all the big bay area touristy spots (of course, not with a 6x7). Sometime maybe you and/or Joe and I should go out on safari :-) I found a place in Los Altos that processes 120 pretty quickly, but don't know about scans, so I'll check out Calypso.

So, it was Singapore, eh? :-)
