Yesterday...
Sep. 15th, 2002 10:01 amAll I have to say is "whew" (for several values thereof).
Went to the Indy Irish Festival with two friends, J and N, yesterday afternoon. Some awesome music by Curfa, Off Kilter, and Hog Eye Navvy and others. The three of us, while enjoying the music immensely, were lamenting all afternoon that we didn't have a fourth for dancing (it wasn't really a dancing event, but who cares?). We tried anyway, but it's difficult with only three. The food was overpriced, but good, and I picked up a cool Celtic cross t-shirt for pretty cheap actually. I was bummed I couldn't find anything appropriate for
computerchix, but all the jewelry seemed to be Sterling silver, to which she reacts.
computerchix stayed home yesterday. She was exhausted from last week, and finally get her thoughts together to talk one-on-one and come out to her mom. I was so relieved her mom seemed to take it well. Her mom and dad are going to need some time to sort through everything they discussed, but it went very well.
I had to bail on J and N in the middle of Off Kilter's performance at the Irish Fest (which was a bummer - imagine a "traditional" rock band with electric guitar, bass, drum kit, keyboards, and one interesting addition: Highland bagpipes) as
computerchix and I had dinner plans at another friend's house. I got home and gave her hugs after learning how the coming out went, and we went to the dinner. Yummy enchiladas and cheesecake! Played Mexican train dominoes for a while, then learned a new (to us) card game: golf. After nine holes, we were about to nod off, so we came home.
A good but long day...
