Yesterday afternoon, after my bicycle ride,
computerchix and I went out to run some errands. She had suggested hitting this
bike place called Cycle Outfitters on the south side. I was game, because I wanted to get a gel pad for my bicycle seat. My behind was feeling a bit tortured after riding 48 miles that morning. I checked the phone book to confirm their address - no listing in the Yellow Pages. Odd. Checked the White Pages. Ah, they are listed. So, we headed out for the 40-minute drive to the other side of town to find this place. As we pull up to the place, I see that it is a motorcycle outfitter shop. Um... yeah. Can you say "complete miscommunication"?
computerchix wanted to shop for a helmet and boots for her motorcycle class she'll be attending in a few weeks. The whole way down there, I was expecting a bicycle shop. We laughed about it, and hit a bicycle shop for me afterward, but it made us realize, with our different interests, we have
got to be more specific when using the term
bike with each other.
