Yes, [livejournal.com profile] computerchix and I are crazy. We literally just got back from driving 16 1/2 hours straight through from Denver. Nothing like getting up at 2:00 AM MST to hit the road because you have to be back in the office in Indy the next day. Had a wonderful time, albeit short...

On Wednesday night, we stopped outside St. Louis for a nice dinner with [livejournal.com profile] semperfiona. Great conversation, good food... weird atmosphere (at that Joe's Crab Shack, the wait staff got on top of some of the tables and did some cheesy disco dance once and the Macarena once - to very loud music). Oh, and we got to see the dragon! :-) Would have liked to have spent more time - we probably could have chatted for hours had we not needed to get on to Kansas City for our hotel reservation. And, [livejournal.com profile] myowngrrl, birds were waved in the general direction of Lees Summit, MO, as requested (even as we passed through on the way back, for good measure)! :-)

Got to Denver on Thursday afternoon about 2 PM. When we got in touch with T & M, we went to their place for a makeshift Thanksgiving dinner. Nothing major, but really good. On Friday, we went hiking at Castlewood Canyon State Park, where [livejournal.com profile] computerchix proceeds to sprain her left ankle. Not as bad as she did once before, but I was glad M is a Physical Therapy Aid.

On Saturday, [livejournal.com profile] computerchix and I went to Tattered Cover books - an awesome store in the Cherry Creek area of Denver, then we went with T & M to REI for a while, and back to their place. T and I went for a 10-mile bike ride (I remembered all of my cold weather gear except the piece I missed most - a balaclava), and then all of us sat down and started watching videos of "Xena" (actually, the 3 "Hercules" episodes wherein she made her debut).

All in all, not a bad time, but waaaaaaay too far to drive for such a short weekend.

And now, I am going to bed. Will catch up on e-mail and LJ tomorrow. Nighty-night!
