Watching the Tony Awards

If I didn't know Hugh Jackman was also Wolverine in the X-Men movies, there is no way I'd believe it was the same actor based on watching him perform the number from The Boy from Oz during the awards telecast. What a versatile performer! And I think he just embarrassed the hell out of Sarah Jessica Parker. ;-)

He kicked ass as Curly in the BBC's televised version of "Oklahoma!" too. The boy can sing and dance.

I think that is the first time I've (been allowed to) watched an ENTIRE Tony awards show. I loved it. By the time the best actress and actor awards were being read, I was rooting for everyone, never having seen or heard any of the shows involved, based purely on the performances that we got to see. But I was entirely jazzed when Idina Menzel won for WICKED. Synchronisticly, I had ordered the original cast recording earlier in the day, *just* in case. Hadn't even heard of AVENUE Q, but I want that soundtrack now, too!

The Avenue Q soundtrack is great. It's also an earworm minefield. :-) I want to see the show. Tickets were already expensive. Now, they'll either be more so, or just much harder to come by... or both.
