Sitting here on the couch with Toni, watching the DVD of You Only Live Twice. I was contemplating doing a post listing things I'm thankful for and/or the wish list meme I've seen today, but my brain is still in a light and fluffy state this morning. The number one thing I'm thankful for at this instant is that I am not working today and don't have a headache. For once. I guess I'm also thankful for the fact that I'm still hanging onto my sense of humour, albeit maybe by a thread, given my current job and health situations, and a few other things. Of course I'm always very thankful for [livejournal.com profile] soaring_phoenix and [livejournal.com profile] mac_arthur_park.

This afternoon, Toni and I are supposed to go over to my parents' place for the big meal with my family. Toni's still feeling pretty yucky and may not be up for it. I don't really want to go by myself, but I also don't want to miss a good turkey dinner that I don't have to clean up after. Selfish? Possibly.

Back to work tomorrow. Need to order a few more calendars - Toni and Al, if they are up to going out on Black Friday, will order them for me while I'm at work. Saturday, headache status pending, I'm hoping to set up some other marketing channels for my photography business.

In just over a week, I'm giving myself a little out-of-town break from routine. [livejournal.com profile] medusas_secret has invited me to meet her in Urbana for a contra dance on Friday, December 3. I need it. It will be great to see her again too.

I think I'm going to try to get away from Diet Coke again just to eliminate another possible cause/complication for my headaches (the aspartame). I tried C2 once and wasn't too impressed, but I may give it another try. After all, years ago I didn't really think much of Diet Coke since I had been used to the full strength stuff for so many years. C2 will add back in some calories, but I think I'd rather deal with them.

Every time I see the James Bond flick You Only Live Twice, and it reaches the sequence at the Ninja training school, I can't help but think of the same sequence in the "A Fistful of Yen" part of Kentucky Fried Movie.

"We are building a fighting force of extraordinary magnitude. You have our gratitude."
