Home.

Yesterday, I spent a wonderful day in Charlottesville. Walked downtown and explored some of the plethora of used bookstores. Picked up the three Marion Zimmer Bradley Avalon prequels that Toni had been missing and found an audio book CD set for Robert Rankin's The Antipope, unabridged, read by the author, and signed no less! Listened to that on the way home today - brilliantly done, IMHO. Met [livejournal.com profile] jb98 for lunch at a place called Garden of Sheba, supposedly African-inspired. Seemed quite Jamaican, and the curry fish dish I had was absolutely excellent, as was the company. I'm glad I got to meet JB before I headed home. [livejournal.com profile] krasota met me on the downtown mall and we wandered some more. I picked up a copy of Chez Goth at a comic and game store, and we caught the free trolley over to the U VA campus.

I took a lot of pictures in the campus cemetery, and we wandered over to the Rotunda, took the tour, and then walked around the gardens behind the East Pavilions before catching a drink at Starbucks and taking the trolley back downtown to meet [livejournal.com profile] explodingcat for dinner. Back at their place, [livejournal.com profile] krasota cut me some white radishes from their garden, which I devoured - I must have been short on veggies over the last few days. :-) Then we drove out to Skyline Drive (Shenandoah National Park) and the Blue Ridge Parkway so I could photograph the sunset. Quite a storm blew in while we were out there, but it didn't last long.

This morning, I headed home at about 9:45am EDT and just got home about an hour and a half ago - 10 hours, 594 miles. I-64 through VA and W VA is very cool, but the state roads through South central OH are not particularly exciting (then again, neither is I-74 through Southeastern IN).

I'm going to vegetate for the rest of the evening, and catch up on schtuff tomorrow. Brain dead now.
