But, Mom, I donwannagotawork today!
Jun. 23rd, 2003 09:51 amBeen a terrific last few days. After spending the first part of last week by myself (which was good in some ways, bad in others - I have to balance some occasional alone time),
computerchix got back from her class in Chicago Thursday evening, bringing
aliciar with her. Friday night,
semperfiona and Rosa came for a somewhat spontaneous (as spontaneous as one can be with a 4 1/2 hour drive one way) visit.
Saturday, Toni made waffles for breakfast, and the five of us went to The Children's Museum for several hours and all had a great time. Rosa played in the "Good Grief!" exhibit (art and such based on Schulz's Peanuts strip, of course) for quite some time, we saw an exhibit of artifacts from and scientific displays about the Titanic, the four adults geeked in front of the giant water clock at the 1:00 PM "flushing", and Fi took Rosa for a ride on the antique carousel. We went for frozen custard at Ritters, and then home for a while. Toni napped, so Al, Fi, Rosa and I made a quick run to Target so I could pick up a copy of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (they had the best advertised price and surprisingly had plenty of copies left by early Saturday evening), and we introduced Fi to Trader Joe's.
On Sunday, Fi and Rosa had to head back to St. Louis in the morning. :-( Toni, Al, and I went out for lunch (I love going to restaurants and the like with more than one sweetie and seeing the reactions when we're holding hands as a group) and generally took care of some domesticities (dishes, laundry) for most of the day. I wrote up a couple of photo print quotes, and hopefully standardized some pricing.
This morning, Toni took Al to the airport to go back to Bristol and she's on her way as I type this to Valparaiso, Indiana for a client visit. She'll be there until Wednesday afternoon at the latest (hopefully). I dropped off the Baja to get the bed cover installed and came into work a bit late. Tonight I'm going to try again to get hold of a potential customer (on Friday I got a message at home from a woman looking for a photographer for her and her partner's commitment ceremony in October) and curl up and start reading the new Harry Potter book. Sorry George, but A Game of Thrones is going on hold for a few days. :-) I'm amazingly awake this morning after a mostly sleep-deprived weekend.
Life doesn't suck.
