Went upstairs for something at my workplace a little while ago. When I came back downstairs, I used the stairway at the east end of the building, which only has two doors to the inside (one to our first floor area, and one to our second floor area), and one door to the outside. All three doors are locked by Honeywell magnetic fob readers. Anyway, I got into the stairwell, down the stairs, and the reader was beeping in response to the proximity of my fob, but it was not unlocking the door. Knocking was useless - apparently, no one in my department could hear from their cubicles. I went back upstairs and encountered the same problem - via the door I just exited! So, I went outside, around to the main entrance to the building, and was able to come into the general lobby. However, I couldn't get in via the door to our downstairs from the lobby, either. I walked up the lobby stairs to our lobby which is on the second floor, and even had to have the receptionist let me in at that door. I guess someone from Honeywell was working on the security system and turned off the access codes on each of our key fobs. Oops.
