Just like riding a... uh...
Mar. 15th, 2003 04:46 pm...well, a bicycle, I guess!
The long winter doldrums have officially ended. I took a bike ride this afternoon. It's sunny, breezy, and 64 degrees F here in Indy as I write this. Got back in from the ride about 20 minutes ago. Rode for 70 minutes, for approximately 15 miles (I'm not entirely certain of the exact distance, due to the fact that the computer on my hybrid seems to be buggered up). I took out the hybrid since it hasn't been ridden in well over a year, and I feel I can be a little more relaxed than when I'm on the road bike (and can trust worse terrain, given the potholes we have around here after this winter...). I'm a little tired, but not completely wiped out. This is a good sign that last year's advances in my physical conditioning have not been completely erased by never getting to the Y this winter.
The only complaint I have is that Hamilton county traffic SUCKS! I had at least 5 cars pass me containing teenagers who felt they either had to gun their engine or yell something at me. Such maturity the parents around here seem to be nurturing...
Time to scrounge something for dinner...
