Jul. 10th, 2003 08:52 am1) Money is no object: describe your favorite scenario for a date-night.
Starting off with a tough one! If money really is no object, and this isn't necessarily a first date, taking a private plane on a short hop flight to a resort (or perhaps even this place). Depending on timing, a nice quiet dinner on the plane on the way or right after we get to our destination. See some of the sights in the area (walk the beach or along the streets), and maybe take in a film, play, or some performance. Retire to the resort late, breakfast in the room the next morning, and an unhurried return home.
2) Name a skill you would like to master, and why it interests you.
I thought about this one for a while. There's photography, but I'm well on my way there. I could have picked piloting a small aircraft or writing, but instead I think I'll go with being more outgoing. If I could do that better, I could sell and market my photography and video skills better and probably be more successful independently than I foresee.
3) Where do you want to be in three years' time? What steps are you taking to get there. (this question is a fave of mine, I'll admit)
I've always hated this line of questioning, I'll admit. I've always had trouble translating my "dreams" into a timeline. Three years... I think I'd like to be comfortable financially, secure in a job that either I really love or at least doesn't bore or annoy me, and have time to pursue enough independent photography/video production work to make me happy if that isn't my main job then. Steps I'm taking to get there: we have a financial plan, pending my employment status, and I'm both looking for secure employment and starting to set up the photo/video business on the side. In my personal life, I'd like still to be secure with those I love, having fun and exploring new things.
4) What's your opinion of the Electoral College system?
I think it is an antiquated system. I'm of two minds on the following, but if the popular vote is what should elect the President, do away with it. Otherwise, if the States should elect the President, give them each one electoral vote.
5) Complete this sentence without resorting to cliché: "Being in love is like..."
"...a security blanket for the soul." Okay, that's still cliché. If you're talking NRE, it's like "...being a teenager again." For an established relationship, to me, it's like "...an external part of me is always there, always available, but not to be taken for granted."
