Removed some people this morning with whom I felt I hadn't interacted in a while. It's nothing personal. Seriously.

Got irritated by a comment elsewhere the other day and actually replied to it, only to be bitten on the ass about it afterward (hence my recent slightly obscure Star Wars-based catty post). The person who snapped has since apologized, and that's fine, but it reminded me why I don't talk about some things here. It's not that I don't have opinions, or don't appreciate reasoned debate, but I should have been concentrating on studying hook echoes and rear flank downdrafts rather than the issue that distracted me. Must keep in mind one of my favorite quotes of all time:

There are three things I have learned never to discuss with people: religion, politics, and the Great Pumpkin.
-- Linus Van Pelt

Which reminds me, I got a t-shirt with the classic pose of Linus holding his blanket and sucking his thumb. I still need to print that quote on a transfer for the back of said shirt.

Trimmed the friends list a bit. If I removed someone, it was because there just hadn't been any interaction for a while and/or I was skimming that person's journal already. It's nothing personal.

In my atmospheric dynamics class today, we finally started on my LJ name. Specifically, the Quasi-Geostrophic Approximation: a set of ugly-looking equations that govern all the motions on the scale of a typical U.S. weather map.

I also learned that my LJ name should be pronounced with emphasis on the 1st and 4th syllables (KWAS-i-jee-OSS-trow-fee). :-)

ION, when I went to lunch, having seen this, I was tempted to ask "I can has cheeseburger?" when I ordered my food. :-)

Since I foresee even less time to keep up w/ LJ once I start commuting to Purdue, I'm going to be making some big cuts to my flist over the next few weeks. Most of the cutting will probably be just trimming of my default filter rather than "unfriending". But even if I cut you, it's because I don't feel we know each other that well and just can't keep up anymore. It doesn't mean I don't like you.

Belated: [livejournal.com profile] anotheranon. I may not comment much, but your posts often amuse me.

Today: [livejournal.com profile] quietshell. It was good to see you pop up on LJ recently and learn things seem to be going well.

Tomorrow (since I may forget with homework and such): [livejournal.com profile] mactavish. I hope you're rested from your Oregon trip (*envy*). :-)

Since school started, I've been reading much less LJ than usual. I'm going to cut several communities I hardly look at anymore, not because I'm no longer interested, but because I no longer have time to keep up. A few people will be trimmed from my reading list as well. Don't take it personally. If you get cut and really really want back on, say something. I'm doing it because I have no time to read everyone. In only a couple of cases, I'm doing it to minimize excess drama, as I really have no time for that right now. No indirect communication is intended by the cut.
