(And because I'm feeling like being a comment whore.)

Only 3 days left before Valentine's Day. Share the love at [livejournal.com profile] 021410 today! :-)

I wonder what the seed is for this. I seem to recall it gives me the same results from my interests list every year.

On the twelfth day of Christmas, quasigeostrophy sent to me...
Twelve scritches writing
Eleven tattoos wyoming
Ten clouds a-cuddling
Nine blizzards bicycling
Eight toys a-rappelling
Seven canyonlands a-tickling
Six physics a-kissing
Five clo-o-o-oud physics
Four obscure references
Three corner gas
Two hot tubs
...and a garlic in an astronomy.

...and it's about the most positive thing I can say about the change of year tonight. :-)

Bringing videos! :-)

Yesterday, we got the new Futurama: Bender's Big Score, courtesy [livejournal.com profile] geekchick. Been waiting for new Futurama content for years, and it seems the crew hasn't missed a step since it was last in production, IMHO.

Today, in an order placed for ourselves, we got:

- Deadwood: Season 3
- The Simpsons Movie
- Stardust

- And, completely drool-worthy, the Blade Runner 5-Disc Ultimate Collectors Edition. ZOMG - they really geeked this out. It's awesome.

ETA: It should have said something about my tastes then that of all of my friends who liked the show and had a thing for Jennifer (Loni Anderson), I was always more into Bailey (Jan Smithers).

Happy Weatherman's Day :-)

Since it's that time of year, and not that I'm expecting anything in particular, but I've noticed others posting theirs, I'm putting wish lists and such in this post. I'll probably just edit this post if I feel like changing anything.

- From The Snoopy Store at CafePress, a Linus Ringer T-Shirt, either color ring, size 2-XL. I have plans for one of these - putting my favorite Linus quote on the back, in the Peanuts font.

- My Amazon.com Wish List(s).

One of the churches I pass on my way to my allergy shots every Friday morning had pumpkins scattered all over its front lawn this morning, along with a big sign, The Pumpkin Patch.

How insincere can you get? He'll never visit that one. :-)

My favorite carrier UPS rang the doorbell unusually late this evening, leaving a long box from ThinkGeek.

My friend M sent a new floor mat!!

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

Last Thursday I didn't flush (-1 points). In April [livejournal.com profile] forbiddenone and I robbed a bank (-50 points). Last Wednesday I gave change to a homeless guy (19 points). Last week I bought porn for [livejournal.com profile] melanie (-10 points). Last Sunday I caught a purse-snatcher who stole [livejournal.com profile] rfrench's purse (30 points).

Overall, I've been naughty (-12 points). For Christmas I deserve a moldy sandwich!

Sincerely,
indyansel

Write your letter to Santa! Enter your LJ username:

Step One

- Make a post (public, friends locked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two

- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

My Wishes:
  1. My sinuses to stop being full.
  2. To be able to, from a health, financial, and availability standpoint, complete another century bicycle ride.
  3. Toni's and a few other folks' health issues to cease.
  4. A new pregnancy for a close friend/chosen family member.
  5. Early acceptance into Purdue's graduate EAS program with full research assistant fellowship.
  6. CafePress store sales.
  7. Amazon Wish List stuff.
  8. An official 2005 Chicago White Sox World Series Champions T-shirt, XL or XXL.
  9. A comprehensive personal weather station.
  10. Help with all the home repairs and yard work that still needs to be done (not that Toni wouldn't help, but given her health issues and the number of things still to do...).
  11. Time and financial availability to take some trips, particularly back to the Maritimes, NoVA, California, Colorado, the Pacific NW, the UK, and/or (for the first time) Australia and New Zealand.
